Matt DeHart

Twenty years of helping people get clear about money.

Matt has spent more than twenty years working in finance and real estate. He has guided business owners through cash flow, margins, expenses and debt, and families through the same questions at home.

His approach is shaped by his own financial experience. He knows what it is to make expensive mistakes and to work back from them, so he explains patiently and nobody gets judged for where they are starting from.

Highline Financial is based in Salem, Utah. Meetings are held by Zoom or phone, so the practice can be anywhere.

The Highline story

Why we're called Highline.

The name comes from the Highline Trail in Utah.

It was the last trail Matt backpacked with his dad before he passed away.

The trail in our logo is that trail. It is there as a reminder of what this work is about: a long route through hard country is easier with someone beside you who knows the way.

That is what Matt aims to be for the practices he works with.

How Matt works

The Highline approach.

Three stages, taken in order. Each one makes the next possible.

01

Establish positive cash flow

Everything starts with more coming in than going out, reached in a way the practice can sustain. No drastic cuts that fall apart in three months.

02

Make the banks work for you

Understand how interest, loans and credit really work, and where newly freed-up cash does the most good.

03

Solidify your growth

With steady cash and a clear view of the numbers, the practice can plan ahead with confidence.

What a fractional CFO is, and isn't

Working alongside your other professionals.

Matt leads the financial thinking for your practice. He is not a CPA, licensed investment advisor or attorney, and he does not sell financial products.

Your CPA files the taxes. Your bookkeeper records the transactions. Your advisor manages investments. A fractional CFO fills the gap between them: understanding what the numbers mean and deciding what to do about them, month after month.
